COVID-19 Update

The National Assembly is doing its part in the fight against COVID-19 and has implemented special measures to ensure the safety of its staff and of the people who visit the institution.

Measures implemented by the National Assembly

  • Visitors may access the Parliament Building if they show proof of vaccination.
  • Everyone in the National Assembly buildings must show proof of vaccination and wear a procedure mask when going from one place to the next and in common areas (lobbies, hallways, staircases, elevators, the Café du Parlement, the Le Parlementaire restaurant, the library, the reception pavilion, etc.)
  • Since March 17, telework is required for National Assembly staff, except for individuals who must ensure essential services.
  • As of March 12, any National Assembly employee returning from abroad must self-isolate for 14 days.
  • Anyone who has a cough, fever or difficulty breathing may not enter the National Assembly and must comply with instructions to self-isolate for 14 days.
  • Work trips abroad and visits by foreign delegations have been cancelled. Visitor access to the Parliament has been suspended since March 13 until further notice.
  • Alcohol-based hand sanitizer dispensers have been installed in all Assembly buildings.
  • Cleaning frequency has been increased (more frequent cleaning of bathrooms, door handles, railings and elevator buttons).
  • Prevention posters on hand washing and disinfection methods have been posted in the buildings.
  • A procedure for circulation and access to common rooms has been implemented to ensure the safety of staff and visitors.

Access to the Parliament Building and tours for the general public are temporarily suspended. We will keep you informed of any changes in the situation.

Parliamentary proceedings

Since May 13, National Assembly proceedings have gradually resumed. A limited number of parliamentarians are present on-site. Consult the schedule.
