The Committee on Culture and Education will be holding public hearings beginning September 2, 2010, as part of its general consultation on Bill 103, An Act to amend the Charter of the French language and other legislative provisions.
Individuals and organizations wishing to express their views on this subject must submit a brief to the Committees Secretariat no later than August 16, 2010. Briefs must be on letter-size paper.

Individuals wishing to voice their views during public hearings without submitting a brief must file a request to that effect with the committee clerk no later than August 16, 2010. The request must include a short statement summarizing the nature of the presentation to be made.

Unless the Committee decides otherwise, briefs will be made public and posted on the Committee’s web page, along with any personal information they contain.
Deadlines for submitting briefs and requests are subject to change, as is the opening-date for public hearings. If changes are made, the information will be made public via the National Assembly’s website without further notice being published in the newspapers.
