Ordering
Customers not able to come in person to the National Assembly gift shop (La Boutique), located in the Parliament Building, may send their order
Customers may consult one of the PDF files of the gift shop catalogue (in French) to prepare their order. Prices are in Canadian dollars and are subject to change without notice.
The gift shop processes each order within 48 hours.
Orders are shipped via Canada Post.
Delivery times:
- for Québec and Canada: a maximum of 2 weeks
- elsewhere: a maximum of 3 to 4 weeks
Depending on the place of delivery, the Québec sales tax and the Canadian goods and services tax may be added to the price.
Payment
Mail orders must be paid with a Visa, MasterCard or American Express card. The costs are charged after the order is processed.
For security reasons, please DO NOT send your credit card number by email.
Goods and Services Tax and Québec Sales Tax
Items Delivered in Québec
The Canadian goods and services tax (GST) of 5% and the Québec sales tax (QST) of 9.5% are added to the price of each item. There is no QST on books.
Items Delivered Elsewhere in Canada
- New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland and Labrador: A single tax of 13% is added to taxable sales under an agreement between the governments of these three provinces and the federal government.
- Other provinces and territories: Only the 5% GST is added to the selling price.
Items Delivered Outside Canada
Items delivered outside Canada or made available to a purchaser outside Canada are not subject to Québec or Canadian sales taxes.

Shipping and Handling Costs
Shipping and handling costs depend on the place of delivery:
- Canada: $8.50
- United States: $13
- Other parts of the world: $22
Confidentiality
All information provided when ordering (name, address, credit card number) is confidential and will be used solely for delivery purposes.

Items Not Available by Mail Order
- Glass or ceramic articles
- Perishable goods
- Items requiring a controlled temperature (wines, for example)
Returns
If an item is not to your satisfaction
Purchases may be returned within 30 days of delivery.
The gift shop will refund the amount of the purchase less shipping and handling costs by crediting the credit card used to make the payment.
If an item is damaged, defective or incomplete
Please notify the gift shop personnel if an item is damaged, defective or incomplete on delivery so they can take the necessary steps to recover it. The total amount of the purchase, including shipping and handling costs, will be refunded.
Conditions
The item must be returned
- in its original packaging
- with a copy of the receipt
The gift shop is not responsible for lost or misdirected parcels and recommends that returns be shipped via a service that offers insurance and parcel tracking.
