Have you noticed that gardens have pride of place in front of the Assemblée nationale’s Hôtel du Parlement? They are divided into three separate zones: urban farming, ornamental horticulture and the woodland garden. The urban agriculture garden has been supplying the restaurants with fruit, vegetables, herbs and edible flowers since 2012.

Did you know that urban farming plays an important role at the Assemblée nationale? The restaurant kitchens are a hive of activity, but they are not the only hives on the Hôtel du Parlement grounds. There are also some perched on the roof of one of the buildings, and those hives’ inhabitants, in other words, around 250,000 bees, produce a delicious nectar that is subtly incorporated into many of the restaurants’ dishes.
