Discover Québec’s Capital in a Day
The Commission de la capitale nationale du Québec has prepared a program of guided walking tours of Québec City called Découvrir la capitale nationale (Discover Québec’s Capital). The tours are geared to

- Québec student groups (primary school through university)
- accredited youth drop-in centres
- immigrants.
Every year, about 16,000 people from Québec’s 17 regions take part in these tours.
Thirteen Thematic and Educational Tours
Each tour focuses on a particular aspect of past and present life in the capital city. Themes includes
- democracy and the construction of the buildings on Parliament Hill
- the evolution of the settlement
- the lifestyle of the early settlers
- the fortifications
- cancer research.
The indoor tour of the Parliament Building included in certain tours may be unavailable during times of peak activity.

Transportation Subsidy
La Commission de la capitale nationale offers a transportation subsidy to educational establishments in the province of Québec that reserve a guided walking tour. Subsidy amounts vary from $75 to $1,405 for a full-day tour, depending on the distance travelled to reach Québec City.
