Integration of the REM with the new Île-aux-Tourtes bridge

WHEREAS traffic is steadily increasing from Vaudreuil-Soulanges to island of Montréal, with approximately 87,000 vehicles crossing the bridge daily;
WHEREAS a new Île-aux-Tourtes bridge is in the planning stage;
WHEREAS the REM is being built to connect Kirkland with the Montréal-Trudeau International Airport and downtown Montréal;
WHEREAS a new regional hospital is being built in Vaudreuil-Dorion;
WHEREAS we need enhanced public transport connecting Vaudreuil-Soulanges to the island of Montréal to service the growing region;
WHEREAS the use of reliable, efficient and economical public transportation such as the REM will provide enormous environmental and lifestyle benefits to
Vaudreuil-Soulanges residents into the future.
We, the undersigned, ask the Government of Québec to integrate the REM with the new Île-aux-Tourtes bridge, with a western REM station at the new Vaudreuil-Soulanges regional hospital.
