Members
On August 27, 2026, the Lieutenant-Governor dissolved the Assemblée nationale. A general election will be held on Monday, October 5, 2026. The call for an election ended the 43rd Legislature.
At the time of dissolution, the seats were divided as follows:
- Coalition avenir Québec: 79 seats
- Quebec Liberal Party: 18 seats
- Québec solidaire: 11 seats
- Parti québécois: 7 seats
- Independent Members:
- Parti conservateur du Québec: 1
- Others: 9
The Assemblée nationale is composed of 125 Members, each of whom is elected in an electoral division under the first-past-the-post system.
After a general election, the Secretary General of the Assemblée nationale receives the official list of candidates declared elected from the Chief Electoral Officer. The candidates then take the oath of office and become full-fledged Members of the Assemblée nationale.
