Fondation Jean-Charles-Bonenfant
The Fondation Jean-Charles-Bonenfant was created in 1978 by an Act of the Parliament of Québec. Since that time, it has pursued an educational mission aimed at enhancing and disseminating knowledge about Québec’s political and parliamentary institutions, promoting their study and conducting research in their regard.
As part of its mandate, the Fondation offers five 10-month internships annually, complete with a bursary, to university students who have finished their undergraduate studies. Interns are paired with a Government Member and an Opposition Member, enabling them to discover all aspects of an elected official’s work. Over the years, the Fondation's internship program has earned a solid reputation among Québec universities.
The Fondation also supports elementary and secondary schools in setting up student councils and awards merit scholarships during educational activities organized by the National Assembly.
