Petition:
Increased investments and creation of initiatives to combat racism in Québec

WHEREAS every person deserves to live in a society where they are valued and respected, regardless of their origin, religion or skin colour;

WHEREAS racial inequalities and systemic discrimination remain a pressing issue in Québec;

WHEREAS fighting racism is an essential pillar of an equitable, inclusive and democratic society;

WHEREAS the lack of a clearly identified and dedicated budget for this cause weakens the impact of government commitments and makes it difficult to assess their effectiveness;

WHEREAS concrete initiatives, such as public awareness campaigns, employment access programs, training within public services and support for racialized communities, require stable and sufficient resources;

We, the undersigned, ask the Government of Québec to:

• significantly increase these investments, especially to support community organizations working with racialized people;
• establish a permanent structure with real resources to coordinate and evaluate anti-racism actions throughout the government.
