US Interparliamentary Organizations
A Brief History
The Assemblée nationale du Québec maintains relations with US elected representatives by participating in the activities of the following interparliamentary organizations:
As an affiliated international member, the Assemblée participates in annual meetings, executive committee meetings and other committee meetings, all of which give Québec an opportunity to promote its interests.
Of the themes taken up by the CSG and the NCSL, the Assemblée is particularly interested in transborder, trade, energy, environmental, transportation and agricultural issues. It also takes part in annual meetings on agriculture and the protection of the Great Lakes and the St. Lawrence River.

On August 27, 2026, the Lieutenant-Governor dissolved the Assemblée nationale. The call for an election ended the 43rd Legislature.
When a legislature is dissolved, MNAs, whose terms coincide with the duration of the legislature, cease to hold office. The President and Vice-presidents stay in office until they are replaced or reappointed by the new Assemblée.
